This post is related to the recent launching of this blog. Yeah, i will share you some ways to promote this brand-new blog. It’s not too difficult but needs some efforts. Here’s the way.

1. Blogwalking and commenting

Yupe, it’s a basic step to promote your blog. Start browsing through blogosphere™ especially the one related to your blog or hobby. Start commenting at your acquaintances’ blogs or social networking profile pages. Don’t forget to leave your blog’s URL there. If you do it right there’s a big chance that they will come to your blog and give comments as well. Furhtermore, if they think your blog is nice and useful to them, they will bookmark you or note your URL for further reading. If you get stuck, a search at wordpress.com should help you find the blog you need to promote to.

2. Use your old blog

Are you used to own another blog? Announce your new blog there! Your loyal reader will get it and know your new blog soon. Give a nice description about your new blog there. Hmm… some of blogger put their old blog at “RIP” state and write the ‘last will’ to visit their reincarnation form… That’s necessary if you want to abandon your old blog, and start a new blog from the start. But I don’t recommend you to put your old blog to ‘death’ unless you think it’s right.

3. Tell your friends

Tell your friends, family, and your relations that you made a new blog. Ask them to review your blog and tell you what to do for improvement. You will get more impressions this way than just tell them to visit it. Believe me.

Yeah, it’s a brand new blog. After doing a lot (not much enough actually :mrgreen:.) surveys, I made a crucial decision on my hosting service provider plus a nice domain. www.StrifeBlog.com looks nice and easier to remember, isn’t it? Especially for those who has short-term memories

It costs me IDR 109,000 a year for Bloggging Package from IDwebhosting. The package charges me about 30% cheaper than buying hosting and domain from the same company seperately. Yeah, I chose local service because it’s a lil’ bit cheaper :mrgreen:, nice for a guy with low-budget like me.

I decided not to abandon my old blog at wordpress.com. Because that will be my personal blog, and this one will be ‘internationalized’ and contains more informative contents. It supposed to be my very-very own homepage, it’s my old dream since middle school after all. Yeah, a little monetizing will be nice and that will support this blog as well. At least for hosting and domain name fees.

Wordpress is great! You should choose it for your blogging platform. Even for static website, with a little tweak it still works great (I will explain about it later in next entry). It’s plugin and themes-rich. Exteremely customizable, and moreover IT’S FREE!
